FROM SMALL BUSINESSES TO ANTARCTICA
Different places. Familiar challenges.
My career has taken me through small businesses, construction and project teams, hospitality operations, bookkeeping and professional-service teams, and lodging operations supporting more than 300 personnel in the U.S. Antarctic Program.
Those environments have been very different. The fundamentals have stayed surprisingly similar: people need clear expectations, processes need to make sense, information needs to be accessible, and the work should not depend entirely on one person.
Along the way, I’ve led teams and projects, improved processes, created SOPs and training resources, worked through staffing and capacity challenges, and helped implement new systems and technology. I enjoy getting into the details with the people doing the work, because they often know exactly where the friction is.
